We’re a brand new web series based right here in Winnipeg, and we’ve got one mission: to tell the real stories behind your favourite small businesses; the people, the passion, the panic when the debit machine won’t work.
We’re starting out scrappy. And by scrappy, we mean we’re filming on borrowed gear, editing on a laptop that wheezes like an old furnace, and using a clip-on mic that may or may not have been designed for karaoke. But hey, small businesses know a thing or two about making magic on a tight budget, and so do we.
We may not have a crew of 30 or a trailer full of snacks (unless someone brings Timbits), but we do have heart, hustle, and a deep love for this city and its local shops.
So whether you run a business, support one, or just like peeking behind the scenes of other people’s chaos, we hope you’ll stick with us. Because every episode is a love letter to Winnipeg’s small business community… written in permanent marker, on the back of a napkin, during a lunch break.
